3ma 2007
3ma 2007,
the first international meeting specifically intended for the Fiat
131 and derivatives, took place in Southwest Ireland from Friday 18th
to Monday 21st of May 2007. The highlight of the event was the
static
display on Sunday 20th May in the Heights Killarney Hotel car park
where fifteen Fiat 131s were on display for all the visitors to
enjoy. It's the largest number of 131s we've ever seen together so
we are claiming a new world record of 131s in the same place at a
classic car event; unless someone can prove otherwise.
The event, which was kindly supported by
Fiat Ireland,
consisted of non-competitive driving
with routes designed to take in some of the spectacular Atlantic
coastline and mountain passes. But it was also a social event
with plenty of time allocated for the exchange of stories and
experiences about the 131 Mirafiori. As one of the attendees said:
"There are no strangers at the 3ma, just 131 friends"
This was a great opportunity for 131 Mirafiori
owners to discover the myths and legends of Ireland with all its
inspirational scenery while fully enjoying driving their cars. The
driving routes encompassed a circuit of Munster, the southernmost of
the four provinces of Ireland which comprises the counties of Clare,
Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford. The Ring of Kerry is
undoubtedly Ireland's most popular scenic drive so we made sure it
was included in our tour but we've also included many other
unforgettable scenic drives taking in plenty of rugged cliffs and
spectacular coastlines.
The meeting exceeded the expectations of all present so it's
most likely that it will become an annual event. We are already thinking
about 2008 and planning 2009!
